1st CEF Digital Community Event
The European Commission, in close collaboration with the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), is organising the first Connecting Europe Facility – CEF Digital – community event.
The Hola 5G Oulu team is on our way
The HOLA 5G OULU team is heading to Brussels to participate in the Annual Community Conference for the CEF Digital 5G for Smart Communities stakeholders, a key event for the community of innovators in 5G technologies. At this important conference, our team will share the progress and discoveries of the project, which is currently in its pilot research phase, implemented at the Oulu University Hospital. This initiative focuses on deploying a highly efficient, secure, next-generation 5G network with the primary objective of transforming healthcare.
The HOLA 5G OULU project seeks to significantly improve patient care by optimizing medical services and integrating advanced technological solutions, such as smart portable devices designed for doctors and nurses. These tools not only allow for better real-time monitoring, but will also enhance and simplify the daily work of healthcare providers, increasing both the accuracy and speed of decision-making.
During this event, organized by the 5G Smart Communities Support Platform of the European Commission, our team will not only present the achievements reached so far but will also actively participate in collaborative working groups. These sessions will enable the exchange of experiences, the acquisition of new knowledge, and the creation of networks with other 5G innovation projects across Europe. Furthermore, it will provide an excellent opportunity to explore synergies with similar initiatives that are transforming various sectors through the use of emerging technologies, ensuring that HOLA 5G OULU remains a key reference in the evolution of digital healthcare.
The event will gather all the projects funded under the CEF Digital programme and players from all segments of the connectivity value chain in order to share experience, identify collaboration needs, strengthen synergies and contribute to maximising the programme’s impact on policy goals.
The HOLA 5G OULU project has received funding from the European Commission under the CEF Digital program.

With the same purpose of building up and strengthening ties within the CEF digital community, two CEF Digital complementary events focused on specific 5G topics will be organised in the same week:
- On 16th October 2024, the 5G corridors Support Platform (GUIDE) will organise a cluster event dedicated to 5G cross-border corridors;
- On 18th October 2024, the 5G for Smart Communities Support Platform (5GSC-SP) will organise an event dedicated to 5G for Smart Communities.
